PORSCHE INDIA ROLLS OUT NEXT-GEN PANAMERA SUPERSPORT SEDAN AT RS 1.70 CRORE

Porsche India has launched the all-new Panamera at a starting price of Rs 1,69,62,000 (ex-showroom, Kolkata). To be imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) from its Stuttgart facility in Germany, the deliveries of the high-performance car will commence May 4 onwards.

The company, however, didn't share any sales target for this model.

The supersport sedan, which will be available only in an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) version, is powered by a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, which produces 349bhp of maximum power and 500Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed PDK automatic transmission. With a top speed of 272km/h, the new Panamera is claimed to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 5.1 seconds.

For Porsche, growth is not just about select cities Delhi or Mumbai, but also from emerging ones like Kolkata, where it has recently opened a showroom. Furthermore, it is getting sizeable orders for existing as well as the Panamera sedan.

The third generation Panamera competes with the Mercedes-AMG GT63 S e-Performance 4-door Coupe (Rs 3.30 crore, ex-showroom) and the upcoming BMW M8 Gran Coupe. Porsche India didn’t confirm if the hybrid version of this model will be available in India or not.

Meanwhile, Porsche India is looking at record sales this year on the back of the new Panamera, Cayenne as well as the upcoming Macan EV, which will be delivered this year. Last the company delivered 914 units in the country and during the first quarter of this calendar year, it is has already sold 244 units, which is 15 percent of last year’s numbers.
