McLaren 750S v 720S: DRAG RACE

We’ve got our hands on the new McLaren 750S, and it’s about to face off against the glorious 720S! It’ll come as no surprise that both cars are pretty similar under the skin, but let’s compare the stats anyway. Starting with the 720S, it’s powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 that can produce 720hp and 770Nm of torque. It’s equipped with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox that sends power to the rear wheels, and it weighs in at just 1,419kg. Then we come to the 750S. It’s also powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8, and this time it produces (you guessed it…) 750hp and 800Nm. It also comes with a 7-speed dual-clutch that sends power to the rear wheels, and it’s a bit lighter than the 720, coming in at 1,389kg. More power should make it a clear win for the 750, right? 800hp AWD Civic v Audi RS5: DRAG RACE

Mat’s got his hands on the Audi RS5, and it’s lining up against… A Honda Civic Wagovan?! That’s right, we’ve got an Audi RS facing off against a Honda Civic wagon! But trust us, this is no normal Honda Civic… So let’s see how the two cars compare. Starting with the Audi RS5, it’s powered by a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 that can produce 450hp and 600Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox, and the car weighs in at 1,707kg. If you want to pick one up now, it will set you back around £76,000. Then we come on to the Civic. The base car came with a 2.4-litre engine under the bonnet. But of course, it’s had a number of mods added to it, and it now puts out an eye-watering 834hp and 817Nm of torque! Power is sent to all four wheels via a sequential gearbox, and it’s super light, weighing in at just 1,100kg! So the Honda has way more power, but is it any match for Audi’s Quattro AWD system?
