We’ve finally got our hands on the McLaren 750 S, and it’s facing off against a bunch of incredible supercars - the Ferrari 296 GTB, Lamborghini Huracan Performante, and Porsche 911 Turbo S! So let’s see how these magnificent machines compare. Starting with the McLaren, it’s powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8. This delivers 750hp and 800Nm to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, and it weighs in at just 1,389kg. Alongside it, we have the Ferrari. It’s packing a 3-litre twin-turbo V6 along with an electric motor, and these combine to put down 830hp and 740Nm of torque. This is sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and it tips the scales at 1,470kg. Next up it’s the Lambo, which houses a huge 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 that produces 640hp and 600Nm. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and it’s the lightest car here, weighing in at 1,382kg. Then finally we have the Porsche. It’s powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six that puts down 650hp and 800Nm. This power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and it’s the heaviest car here, coming in at 1,640kg. So will the ever-reliable Porsche snatch another win? FIRST LOOK: Porsche Taycan Turbo GT – Smashes Tesla’s Lap Record AGAIN!
The Porsche Taycan Turbo S is already absurdly fast – but now it’s been beaten. By Porsche. To battle the likes of the Tesla Model S Plaid and Lucid Air Sapphire, Stuttgart has cooked up the Taycan Turbo GT, capable of 0-62mph in as little as 2.2 seconds. Yep. Absurd. It remains dependent on a dual-motor (rather than tri-motor) set-up, but can generate up to 1,108hp in its ‘Attack’ mode, and go all the way to 190mph. It’s lapped the Nürburgring in 7mins 7sec and has now destroyed Tesla’s record around California’s best racetrack: Laguna Seca. Top Gear’s Ollie Kew was there to witness the record being set, give a tour of the new super-Taycan, and have a passenger ride in the record car with Porsche’s lap time hero, Lars Kern. It’s a hugely impressive machine (the Turbo GT, not Lars), but is it one the world actually needed? Mat and Racing Driver Sam have flown over to Texas to get their hands on a pair of Hennessy powerhouses, and they’re set to go head-to-head on Hennessey’s own drag strip! So let’s see how these two contenders compare. First off, we have Mat in the Hennessey Mammoth, which is based on the Dodge RAM TRX. It comes with a 6.2-litre supercharged V8, but the power output has been increased to 1,012hp and 1,314Nm of torque! Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox, and this HUGE pick-up tips the scales at 2,921kg! Then we have the Hennessey H1000 Charger. It comes with pretty much the same engine as the Mammoth, so it has a 6.2-litre supercharged V8 that can put down 1,000hp and 1,285Nm. It comes with an 8-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to the rear wheels only, and it weighs in at 2,086kg. Kia unveils 2025 EV6 facelift: Larger battery, new features, and sportier design
Unveiling the Future: Kia Korea has recently pulled the covers off the facelifted 2025 EV6. This new model showcases a host of cosmetic updates, both inside and out, and comes with a larger battery pack. The EV6 is expected to hit Indian roads in early 2025. Power Unleashed: The facelifted EV6 continues to offer similar single and dual electric motor configurations as its predecessor. However, it now boasts a larger battery pack and introduces a plethora of new features, enhancing its appeal. Sporty Aesthetics: The most striking design update in the EV6 facelift is its front fascia. Angular LED DRLs and new LED headlights lend it a sportier appearance. The front-end changes also include a sleeker grille and an updated bumper, giving it a more aggressive look. Sleek Silhouette: While the updated EV6 maintains a similar silhouette to the outgoing model, it now offers a variety of new alloy wheel designs, with sizes reaching up to 20 inches. These changes add to the vehicle’s dynamic stance and road presence. Rugged Rear: At the rear, the EV6 retains the single LED bar tail-lamp design of the outgoing model. However, it now features a redesigned rear bumper, enhancing its rugged appeal and adding to its overall design harmony. Cabin Comforts: Inside, the facelifted EV6 features a familiar cabin layout with a curved panoramic display housing two 12.3-inch screens. The updated interior includes a new two-spoke steering wheel with revised controls and a dual-tone black and brown cabin theme, giving it a premium feel. Tech Upgrades: The facelifted EV6 now incorporates a range of additional features, including a fingerprint sensor for starting the car. Other new features include an augmented reality-based navigation system, a digital key that lets you unlock the car with your smartwatch, and an updated 14-speaker Meridian sound system. Safety First: On the safety front, the updated EV6 gets 10 airbags, along with a host of ADAS features such as front/side/rear parking collision avoidance system, blind spot detection, adaptive cruise control, and lane keep assist. Powertrain Prowess: Globally, Kia offers the facelifted EV6 with similar powertrain options, but with a larger 84 kWh battery pack. It is equipped with either a 229 PS/350 Nm single e-motor or a 325 PS/605 Nm dual e-motor setup. The 2WD long-range variant is capable of delivering a claimed range of 494 km. Market Expectations: We expect the launch of the facelifted Kia EV6 in India in early 2025, with an expected starting price of around Rs 63 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon its launch, it will renew its rivalry with the Volvo XC40 Recharge and the Hyundai Ioniq 5.
